Interactive User Interfaces: ATM.

Another example of an interactive interface is the ATM (Automated Teller Machine) or ‘cash machine’ in the U. K. Cash machines were introduced in 1969 and provide a much more complex level of human-machine interaction compared with the Pelican crossing. Although ATM’s are our first choice when deciding how to remove funds from our bank accounts, they must have seemed strange when first introduced over 40 years ago. The user of an ATM is effectively having a type of conversation with the machine albeit on a very basic level, the user responds to questions and instructions displayed on the screen in order to receive the requested amount of money.
